Venice runs on the season, and so does the cleaning schedule

More of the homes we clean in Venice sit empty for part of the year than almost anywhere else on our routes. That changes the job entirely. An occupied house needs a rhythm. A house that closes in April and opens in November needs a close down that actually protects it and a maintenance visit through the summer, because still humid air in a shut house is how a shower goes gray and a washer gasket starts to smell. The open up is the visit people remember, but the summer visits are the ones that decide what they walk into.

The island homes carry the extra load: salt film on glass and hardware, sand in every slider track, and lanai screens that hold a layer of everything within days. On the mainland through Venice Gardens and Jacaranda the houses are more likely to be lived in year round and run a normal biweekly rhythm. Downtown, the shops and offices along West Venice Avenue get cleaned before opening, because sidewalk traffic here starts early and does not stop through season.
